Save the Dream sets up eight new chapters around the world09/07/2017
Save the Dream, a global non-profit movement established by the International Centre for Sport Security (ICSS) and Qatar Olympic Committee, has taken a “significant step” in the next phase of its global expansion by announcing the establishment of eight Save the Dream Chapters in key locations around the world.
As part of Save the Dream’s overall mission of promoting and protecting the values of sport in young people and help further engage with local communities, the new chapters – which span nine locations and cities across four continents - will see representatives and NGOs based in each location conduct a range of social projects and initiatives to help give more young people access to sport.
Locations that have registered by local NGOs and representatives to become Save the Dream Chapters include Bogota (Colombia), Thessaloniki (Greece), Prague (Czech Republic), Yaounde (Cameroon), Belo Horizonte (Brazil), Buenos Aires (Argentina), Napoli (Italy) and Istanbul (Turkey).
As part of their involvement, the new chapters will utilise Save the Dream’s international network of partners and ambassadors to conduct a range of local community projects, which will provide opportunities and tools for young people through sport and aim to achieve several key objectives. These include developing skills, instilling ethics and promoting social innovation through sport.
